Director's Update

Soup Kitchen Team

Our leadership coordinators cannot do it alone. We have hundreds of volunteers that work with the team coordinators to keep the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen running 6 days a week!

For over 30 years, the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen has devoted its energy to passionately advocating for the hungry, needy and under-represented members of our Rock Hill and York County South Carolina communities. Find out how you can contribute to the future of someone in need through donations of non-perishable food items, money and time. .

The Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen provides free personal hygiene products and arranges for dental services at 9:30 am on the second Tuesday of every month.

These services are provided by generous donations of personal care products from the public, transportation service provided by volunteers and dental and health services provided from professionals.

Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and shared!

Hello everyone,
I would just like to update you on what is going on at the Soup Kitchen.
We served 2865 guests the month of June. This was a record for the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen. Even though it was a privilege to feed that many people, it also presented a new situation for us.
When we prepared our budget, we had no idea that Covid 19 was coming, so therefore feeding this many people a day is certainly a challenge and we need your support.

We are hosting the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen Charity Golf tournament on August 24th and would love for you to help us spread the word .

Thank you so much for your continued support,
